12A Engineer Senior Sergeant
Army MOS 12A is the Engineer Senior Sergeant. These officers provide a wide range of engineering support to the Army.
Their duties include: Inspecting and advising on bridging, rafting, and river crossing operations Supervising general engineering activities related to construction and utility operations Formulating and maintaining construction schedules Training and leading troops in combat, topographic, and construction engineering operations Providing combat support on the battlefield Conducting reconnaissance Supporting maneuver units with mobility, counter-mobility, and survivability
To qualify as a 12A, each officer must complete the 20-week Engineer Basic Officer Leaders Course at Fort Leonard Wood.
