About MOS Roadmap

MOS Roadmap is a career and benefits toolkit for service members, veterans and their families. It was built by a Marine who wanted one place to check pay, promotion scores and next steps without digging through a dozen sites.

Who is behind it

I'm Sgt Hashim, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. I served with 1st Supply Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, at Camp Pendleton. In August 2024 the Marine Corps reorganized the battalion into a regiment, 1st Combat Readiness Regiment (1st CRR).

I built MOS Roadmap because the answers Marines and soldiers need, such as what a cutting score is this month, what BAH is at a new duty station, or how a rating turns into pay, are spread across official sites that are slow to search and hard to compare. This site puts them in one place and keeps them current.

What you can use it for

Most of the public tools are free. A paid membership adds the portal, which includes the résumé studio, targeted résumés, AI practice and the job board.

Where the numbers come from

Figures are taken from official sources and rebuilt on a schedule, not typed in by hand.

  • BAH comes from the Defense Travel Management Office rate files and is updated each year.
  • Marine Corps cutting scores come from the published MARADMINs.
  • Army promotion cutoffs follow the HRC monthly releases.
  • VA compensation rates follow the yearly VA cost-of-living update.

Each tool shows the source and the effective date. If a figure looks wrong, tell me and I'll check it against the official document.

What this site is not

MOS Roadmap is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by the Department of Defense, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Marine Corps or any other government agency. Use it to plan, then confirm anything that affects your pay or benefits with your chain of command, your career counselor or the VA.
