15AX - OPERATIONS ANALYST AFSC Officer



Summary

The nature of warfare is changing with the coming widespread use of intelligent autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, and human-machine teaming to gain decision advantage over an adversary. Operations Analysis officers conduct studies, analyses and assessments to inform military decisions. They deliver analytics and associated models that provide commanders decision advantage. They also forge reusable, common, and interoperable modeling and simulation-enabled capabilities that yield informed decisions on investments to advance war fighting.

What You’ll Do

  • Apply a structured approach to problem-solving using data.
  • Formulate problems, determine known and unknown parameters/variables, and select the appropriate methodology and models to solve the problem.
  • Perform sensitivity analysis to highlight risk within uncertain environments.
  • Visually display and communicate complex quantitative and qualitative information.

Duties

  • Perform duties related to specialized field requirements.
  • Support Air Force mission objectives through technical expertise.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate with other units to accomplish mission requirements.
  • Supervise and train personnel as required.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Officer Training School (OTS), Air Force Academy (AFA) or Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC)
  • Must be between the ages of 18 and have not reached your 42nd birthday

Training Stages

  • BASIC MILITARY TRAINING: 8.5 weeks
  • MILITARY TRAINING LOCATION: Maxwell AFB, AL
  • Technical School Training: 16.5 weeks
  • Technical Training Location: Keesler AFB MS

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree or be within one year of attaining your degree A passing score on the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test (AFOQT)
