1B4X1 Special Missions Aviation
Cyber Warfare Operations specialists (1B4X1) are tasked with developing, sustaining, and enhancing cyberspace capabilities to defend national interests and achieve national objectives through Offensive Cyberspace Operations (OCO) and Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO). They execute command and control (C2) of cyberspace forces, partnering with DoD, interagency, and coalition forces to secure national cyberspace systems against adversaries.

Entry Requirements
- ASVAB: Electrical score of 70
- Strength: Ability to lift 40 lbs
- Additional: Minimum score of 60 on the Air Force Electronic Data Processing Test, attainment of Information Assurance Technical Level II certification, and routine access to Top Secret material.
Duties and Responsibilities
- OCO and DCO Execution: Conduct operations to project power in cyberspace, defend friendly cyberspace assets, and preserve operational capabilities.
- Cyberspace Force C2: Manage and de-conflict cyberspace operations across kinetic and non-kinetic spectrums.
- TTP Development: Develop tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) to support cyberspace operations.
- Operational Readiness: Plan and conduct exercises to enhance readiness, and participate in R&D to evolve cyberspace capabilities.
- Threat Analysis: Assess network nodes, reverse engineer infrastructure devices to determine vulnerabilities, and apply forensic techniques for battle damage assessment.
Specialty Qualifications
- Knowledge: Mandatory understanding of computer systems, software applications, database concepts, networking fundamentals, wireless technologies, cryptography, and laws governing cyber operations.
- Education: High school diploma required, with STEM courses and IT certifications or associate degrees in related fields being desirable.
- Training: Completion of the Cyber Warfare Operations initial skills course is mandatory for entry.
- Experience: Progression through the AFSC requires experience in performing and supervising offensive and defensive cyber operations.
