Geospatial Intelligence specialists (1N1X1) manage, supervise, and perform intelligence activities and functions including the exploitation, development, and dissemination of multisensor geospatial and target intelligence products to support warfighting operations and other activities. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Exploits and analyzes multisensor imagery and geospatial data, integrating with all-source intelligence to produce comprehensive intelligence products.
  • Advises on threats to U.S. and allied forces, providing insights into adversary capabilities and potential actions.
  • Utilizes state-of-the-art technology to produce, review, and disseminate intelligence reports and briefings.
  • Participates in targeting functions, including development, weaponeering, and assessment, and performs precise mensuration of multisensor imagery to determine geographic locations and dimensions.
  • Coordinates with unmanned aerial systems for tasking, processing, exploitation, and dissemination of intelligence.

Specialty Qualifications

  • Knowledge: Understanding of basic and advanced principles of imagery interpretation, geospatial intelligence collection systems, procedures for imagery exploitation, and the integration of imagery and geospatial data with other intelligence sources.
  • Education: High school diploma with courses in mathematics, advanced English, and computer applications is desirable.
  • Training: Mandatory completion of a basic Geospatial Intelligence Apprentice course, with additional training for analyst (A) or targeteer (B) specialties.
  • Experience: Experience in geospatial intelligence functions is necessary for progression, with higher levels requiring supervisory and management experience in intelligence production activities.
