Fusion Analysts (1N4X1) perform and manage intelligence analysis across all domains. They exploit intelligence information, develop targets, and provide situational awareness to operations personnel and leadership. By conducting research and developing assessments, they draft and disseminate intelligence reports globally.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and exploits intelligence information from multiple sources, producing all-source intelligence for strategic, operational, and tactical customers.
  • Advises on force protection, enemy capabilities, and potential actions.
  • Conducts digital network analysis to support Computer Network Operations (CNO).
  • Produces technical products and intelligence reports for Information Operations (IO) and Combatant Commander objectives.
  • Engages in research, analysis, and production of time-critical intelligence to support theater and national agencies.
  • Prepares and presents high-interest technical and operational intelligence briefings.

Specialty Qualifications

  • Knowledge: Understanding of global communications, analytical techniques, intelligence organizations and systems, Information Operations, and effective presentation of intelligence information is mandatory.
  • Education: High school completion with courses in composition, speech, geography, world history, statistics, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, computer applications, and digital communications is desirable.
  • Training: Mandatory completion of Network Intelligence Analysis Fundamentals and either Digital Network Intelligence Analysis Apprentice or Analysis and Production Apprentice courses, depending on the shredout.
  • Experience: Experience in network intelligence analysis or analysis and production functions is required for advancement within the AFSC.
