1Z Special Warfare Enabler

1Z is an Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) that stands for Special Warfare. The first two digits of an AFSC designate the career field. The third space in the AFSC indicates the career field sub specialty. Some AFSCs that fall under 1Z include: 1Z1X1: Pararescue 1Z2X1: Combat control 1Z451: Journeyman 1Z3X1: Tactical Air Control Party specialists The training to become an Air Force Special Operator is considered some of the most difficult and intense training in the world. Only a few people have what it takes to make it through the training. The Air Force created a single AFSC for Airmen who are in training for special warfare.
