Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performing and supervising preventative and operator maintenance on missile, space lift, and R&D facilities.
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing power generation and distribution systems, environmental control systems, air conditioning, heating, ventilation, and refrigerant systems.
  • Analyzing support facility and equipment malfunctions, solving interface problems, and ensuring launch capability and operational readiness.
  • Coordinating and overseeing contractor activities during space launch operations, conducting facility and equipment tests, adjustments, and maintenance.
  • Monitoring, repairing, and operating missile, space lift, and R&D support equipment, ensuring the readiness of electrical circuits, security systems, and auxiliary power equipment.

Specialty Qualifications:

  • Knowledge Required: Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic principles, and the ability to interpret technical orders, diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Education: High school completion with courses in mathematics and physics is desirable.
  • Training: Mandatory completion of the basic missile and space facilities course.
  • Experience: Progression through qualification levels requires experience in maintaining and operating missile and space facilities, R&D facilities, or related support equipment.
