Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting, aligning, troubleshooting, and repairing PMEL standards and TMDE.
  • Calibrating and certifying TMDE to technical data specifications ensuring traceability to Air Force Reference Standards.
  • Planning, organizing, and coordinating mission support requirements and performing trend analysis.
  • Developing and managing PMEL quality programs and ensuring compliance with environmental standards.
  • Providing training and managing technical order distributions.

Specialty Qualifications:

  • Knowledge Required: Understanding of electrical, mechanical, physics, optics, and thermal principles; troubleshooting techniques; metrology program; and calibration traceability.
  • Education: High school completion with courses in electronics, physics, and mathematics is mandatory. Technical or vocational training in electronics and instrumentation is desirable.
  • Training: Completion of a basic PMEL course is mandatory.
  • Experience: Progression through qualification levels requires experience in troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, aligning, and calibrating TMDE.
