Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing missile and launch facilities for simulated launches and evaluations.
  • Conducting preventive maintenance inspections and electrical tests on missile components and launch facilities.
  • Overseeing space launch activities and coordinating with contractors.
  • Supervising safety procedures when handling hazardous materials like nitrogen, liquid fuels, and oxidizers.
  • Engaging in laboratory R&D activities, supporting experiments, and troubleshooting systems.

Specialty Qualifications:

  • Knowledge Required: Understanding of oxidizers and fuels, hydraulics, pneumatics, missile propulsion, and the use of technical diagrams and schematics.
  • Education: High school completion with courses in mathematics and physics is desirable.
  • Training: Mandatory completion of the basic missile and space systems maintenance course.
  • Experience: Progression through qualification levels requires experience in missile maintenance, space launch operations, or laboratory R&D activities.
