Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performing and supervising maintenance actions on missiles, space lift boosters, payloads, and related systems.
- Preparing missile and launch facilities for simulated launches and evaluations.
- Conducting preventive maintenance inspections and electrical tests on missile components and launch facilities.
- Overseeing space launch activities and coordinating with contractors.
- Supervising safety procedures when handling hazardous materials like nitrogen, liquid fuels, and oxidizers.
- Engaging in laboratory R&D activities, supporting experiments, and troubleshooting systems.
Specialty Qualifications:
- Knowledge Required: Understanding of oxidizers and fuels, hydraulics, pneumatics, missile propulsion, and the use of technical diagrams and schematics.
- Education: High school completion with courses in mathematics and physics is desirable.
- Training: Mandatory completion of the basic missile and space systems maintenance course.
- Experience: Progression through qualification levels requires experience in missile maintenance, space launch operations, or laboratory R&D activities.
