Key Responsibilities:

- Material Selection and Application: Structural specialists select construction materials based on strength, application procedures, and curing. They are skilled in preparing, applying, and finishing materials like mortar, concrete, plaster, and stucco, as well as applying protective coatings.
- Metalwork and Welding: These specialists fabricate, repair, and install metal parts and assemblies, performing welding, cutting, brazing, and soldering on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
- Maintenance and Inspection: They manage and evaluate work center activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and troubleshoot, repair, and install locking devices and mechanical gates.
Training and Qualifications:
- Tech School: A 90-day course in Gulfport, MS, equips them with the necessary skills for their role.
- Education: A high school diploma with courses in mathematics, mechanical drawing, and shop mechanics is preferred to prepare for the technical and practical aspects of the job.
