3P0X1 – SECURITY FORCES

The 3P0X1 AFSC involves leading, managing, supervising, and performing security force (SF) activities, including weapon system and physical security, law and order, military working dog handling, combat arms, and area security operations.

Requirements:

  • ASVAB: General: 30
  • Strength: 70 lbs
  • Normal color vision.
  • No history of illicit drug use or distribution.
  • No excessive alcohol use or multiple alcohol-related incidents.
  • No use of substances to obtain an altered state, no sleep disorders, no diagnosed mood or personality disorders.
  • No history of court-martial or civilian convictions.
  • No speech disorder or communication deficiency.
  • No fear of heights, confined spaces, or working around nuclear weapons.
  • Routine access to Secret material or similar environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs force protection duties to protect personnel and resources, including nuclear and conventional weapons systems.
  • Conducts air base defense functions, defends personnel and equipment from hostile forces, and operates in various field environments.
  • Provides armed response, controls entry to installations, and detects unauthorized personnel and activities.
  • Enforces standards of conduct, discipline, and adherence to laws and directives, investigates incidents, and collects evidence.
  • Develops plans, policies, procedures, and instructions for SF programs, manages SF activities, and inspects and evaluates personnel and activities.
  • Provides guidance on military working dog handling, maintains dog health and welfare, and trains handlers and dogs.
  • Implements ground weapons training programs, controls and safeguards arms and ammunition, and inspects and maintains weapons.

Specialty Qualifications:

  • Knowledge: Mandatory knowledge includes weaponry, SF activities, installation security, anti-terrorism, law enforcement, military working dogs, air base defense, training, and combat arms.
  • Education: High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
  • Training: Completion of SF apprentice course, military working dog handler course, combat arms apprentice course, and Security Forces courses.
  • Experience: Progression through various skill levels, with experience in SF activities, military working dog functions, or combat arms functions, and leadership and directing SF activities.
