4A1X1 is a job in the Air Force that involves medical materiel. Medical Materiel specialists ensure that Air Force medical facilities have the supplies and equipment they need to treat Airmen and their families. Their responsibilities include: Preparing and maintaining manual and mechanized medical materiel records Requisitioning, receiving, storing, issuing, safeguarding, and accounting for supplies and equipment Processing and monitoring requests for contracts Medical Materiel specialists play a vital role in supporting medical operations. They complete the Medical Materiel Apprentice course at Sheppard AFB. Students in this specialty receive initial skills training that consists of: Tasks Knowledge training Training provided in the 3-skill level
