4D0X1 Diet Therapy

4D0X1 is an Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) for Diet Therapy. Diet Therapy Specialists perform duties in Nutritional Medicine Service, including: Procuring, storing, preparing, cooking, baking, and serving regular and therapeutic diets and nourishment Performing clinical dietetics tasks and procuring equipment Maintaining established sanitation, safety, and security standards Providing routine therapeutic diet consultations Performing dietary rounds to interview patients on general and therapeutic diets Providing nutritional care and support to patients Examples of diet therapies include: Low carbohydrate diet for individuals with diabetes mellitus Gluten-free diet for individuals with celiac disease Diet low in FODMAPs for individuals with irritable bowel syndrome Other types of therapeutic diets include: No concentrated sweets diet No added salt diet Low sodium diet Low fat diet and/or low cholesterol diet High fiber diet Renal diet
