4E0X1 is an Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) for public health specialists. These specialists are responsible for the health and safety of the community. They manage and perform public health activities and programs, including: Food safety and defense inspection Sanitation Medical entomology programs Public health medical readiness programs Medical intelligence preventive medicine briefings 4E0X1 specialists are also responsible for: Educating Airmen on safety procedures and food inspection Investigating hazardous materials and sanitary standards Education requirements for public health officers include: A bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field An advanced degree, such as a master’s of public health, doctorate, or medical degree
