4Y0X2 is the Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) for Dental Laboratory specialists. These specialists provide dental laboratory support to the United States Air Force. Their responsibilities include: Fabricating dental prosthetics, appliances, and devices based on dental impressions and prescriptions Assisting dentists by crafting and creating custom dental prostheses Inspecting dental laboratory equipment Supervising dental laboratory activities Managing dental clinic and laboratory activities Other duties include: Repairing dental and maxillofacial prostheses and appliances Reviewing correspondence, reports, and records Apprentices work with qualified dental laboratory technicians and dentists to enhance their knowledge and skills.
