5S Space

5S is a Space Force Specialty Code (SFSC) that stands for “Space”. The Space Force uses the AFSC structure to identify Space Force careers. The Space Operations Badge is awarded to 13S space operations officers and 5S0 space systems specialists. Space systems specialists perform tasks such as: Detecting sea-launched ballistic missiles Tracking satellites Assisting in rocket launches To join the Space Force, you must: Be 17–39 years of age Be a U.S. citizen Have a high school diploma or GED with 15 college credits
