5S0X1 Space System Operations

5S0X1 is a Space System Operations specialist in the United States Air Force. Space System Operations specialists are responsible for: Detecting and tracking satellites and ballistic missiles Assisting with rocket launches and space flight operations Planning satellite contacts Maintaining satellite surveillance Resolving emergencies Performing satellite commanding during launch, early orbit, daily operations, and end-of-life testing Space System Operations specialists also perform space battle management, space-based missile warning, ground-based missile warning, space surveillance, orbital warfare, space access and sustainment, and space electronic warfare. The Space Operations Command (SpOC) is the first Field Command (FIELDCOM) of the U.S. Space Force. The SpOC’s mission is to protect America and its allies in, from, and to space.
