8S000 Missile Facility Manager

8S000 is a special duty identifier (SDI) for a Missile Facility Manager in the Air Force. A Missile Facility Manager manages a $6M Missile Alert Facility (MAF) that supports USSTRATCOM global strike and deterrence missions. They perform the following duties: Inspect equipment routinely Perform emergency operating procedures Respond to actions directed by the missile combat crew Plan for base realignment and closure Identify facility requirements Oversee operation, maintenance, and repair budgets Supervise those performing construction, repair, and maintenance duties The 8S000 SDI is awarded upon entry into MAFM special duty. The CFETP 8S000 standardizes training for all missile alert facility managers.
