9L000 Interpreter/Translator

9L000 is an Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) for an enlisted airman who performs duty as a foreign language interpreter or translator. 9L000s can interpret oral or sign language. 9L000s can do many different things depending on the mission. For example, a 1N3 linguist who is picked up for interpreter duty will gain the code 9L for the duration of their interpreter assignment.
