11A Infantry AOC
The Army MOS 11A is the military occupational specialty (MOS) for an Infantry Officer. Infantry Officers are the leaders of the Infantry, the Army’s main land combat force. They are responsible for leading others in all areas of land combat.
Infantry Officers provide many functions to a unit, including: Training and tactical employment of Infantry units Evaluating intelligence and formulating decisions Coordinating employment of unit with other units Directing communications Commanding attached elements Directing training, administration, supply, maintenance, transportation, and security activities of Infantry units
Infantry Officers are responsible for the training, operations, health, welfare, morale, and discipline of all assigned personnel. They develop and execute training and maintenance programs to ensure combat power needs are met.
The Infantry is the largest career field in the Army, making up just over 50% of the entire Army. The second largest career field is MOS 68, or combat medics.
