125D Geospatial Engineering Technician
The Army MOS 125D is a Geospatial Engineering Technician. They are the Army’s technical and tactical experts in terrain analysis and Geospatial Information and Services (GI&S).
Their duties include: Coordinating and supervising the collection, production, analysis, interpretation, and processing of geospatial information Validating the accuracy of geospatial information Directing database development and maintenance Serving on the Battle Staff as the geospatial engineering expert in Division, Corps, and Army commands Coordinating the acquisition of data for mission specifications from supported units, civilian and governmental agencies Advising commanders and their staff on the effects of geospatial information on full-spectrum operations
Army Geospatial Engineers use geographic data to support military and civilian operations for Disaster Relief and Homeland Security.
