12S Topographic Surveyor

The Army MOS 12S is a Topographic Surveyor. Topographic surveyors conduct surveys to provide data for map making, artillery, and aviation support. They also: Record survey data Operate survey equipment Perform topographic computations Construct survey towers and stands Transport, set up, operate, and maintain equipment Draw maps and charts using drafting tools

When choosing an Army MOS, you can consider whether the training and experience will be useful in civilian life. You can also think about the jobs you’d like to do for at least six years.
