12W Carpentry and Masonry Specialist
The Army MOS 12W is a Carpentry and Masonry Specialist. These soldiers are skilled in heavy carpentry and masonry work. They perform general construction duties, including: Fabricating, erecting, maintaining, and repairing rigging devices, trusses, and other structural assemblies Building framing, sheathing fabrication, and roofing structures Building concrete forms for columns, slabs, and walls Assisting with combat engineer missions
The requirements to be eligible for the 12W MOS include: No security clearance needed ASVAB score of 88 in aptitude area GM Physical Profile of 111221 10 weeks of Basic Training 9 weeks of Advanced Individual Training
The 12W MOS also involves: Devising network flow diagrams Coordinating work activities of supporting units Providing supervision over all structural and utility construction projects Inspecting subordinate elements to ensure compliance with directives, construction drawings, and specifications
