12Z Combat Engineering Senior Sergeant

The Army Combat Engineer Senior Sergeant (MOS 12Z) is the leader of the 12 Series MOS.

They are responsible for: Inspecting and advising on bridging, rafting, and river crossing operations Formulating and maintaining construction schedules Assisting in supervision of troops in assault operations Serving as the NCOIC of the Brigade Engineer Cell in a Combat Engineer Brigade Advising and assisting mission support Responsible for daily battle tracking and reporting of engineer bridging equipment and operations Responsible for work order submissions and maintenance

The rank of MOS 12Z is generally acquired after years of service and positive performance evaluations. Combat engineers are trained to fight their way into and out of any terrain or environment.

They perform a variety of military engineering duties, such as: Breaching fortifications Demolitions Bridge-building Laying or clearing minefields Preparing field defenses Road and airfield construction and repair To become a combat engineer, one must first complete basic training, which lasts for 10 weeks. After that, they will attend Advanced Individual Training (AIT) for 14 weeks to learn the necessary skills and knowledge.
