12D Diver
Army Diver (MOS 12D) is a unique Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) in the Army. Army Divers perform underwater tasks such as reconnaissance, demolition, and salvage. They specialize in either scuba diving or deep-sea diving.
Army Divers are highly motivated volunteers who must pass stringent physical and mental capabilities. They are members of a small elite force. Advanced level Divers provide guidance, supervise, and train Soldiers within the same discipline.
The Army is looking for volunteers to become Engineer Divers. This job is both physically and mentally demanding, but can be a very rewarding career.
To become a military diver, recruits must meet certain qualifications: Be under 31 years old Pass the dive medical physical exam/pressure test Have vision that is 20/200 (correctable to 20/20) Not be color blind Be a U.S. citizen Have one full year without non-judicial judgments
