140K Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Systems Tactician
The 140K MOS is for Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Systems Tacticians. These tacticians serve as Tactical Control Officers (TCOs) at the battery level, Tactical Directors (TDs) at the battalion level, and Air Defense Artillery Fire Control Officers (ADAFCOs) at the brigade and Army Air and Missile Defense Command level.
The 140K MOS requires: A GT score of 110 or above A SECRET or above clearance
The 140K course is conducted in nine training phases, with multiple written and practical exams. After successful completion, students receive a graduation diploma and are awarded the 140K MOS.
The 140K MOS includes the following job duties: Monitor and identify aircraft Initiate and monitor engagements of threat aircraft and missiles Plan and develop air and missile defense designs Monitor and coordinate installation of modifications of the AMD system Implement proper safety and security procedures Advise the commander on all tactical and technical considerations
In 2017, the 140E MOS split into two MOSs, 140K and 140L. The 140L MOS is for AMD System Technicians.
