153A Rotary Wing Aviator (Aircraft Nonspecific)
The Army MOS 153A is a Rotary Wing Aviator. This is the starting MOS for Army helicopter pilots. The MOS 153A is used as an accession MOS for armed reconnaissance, attack, utility, or cargo helicopter MOS.
The MOS 153A includes the following duties: Planning flights Determining factors such as load, weight, fuel supply, route, altitudes, or schedules Supervising loading and unloading of aircraft Piloting and commanding assigned aircraft
The MOS 153A is aircraft nonspecific. As training is completed on a specific type of helicopter, this MOS designation will most likely change.
The Warrant Officer Candidate School (WOCS) course is seven weeks long. The successful candidate will attend Warrant Officer School and then Flight School.
