15D Aircraft Powertrain Repairer
The Army MOS 15D is an Aircraft Powertrain Repairer. Their primary responsibility is to maintain the powertrain systems for aircraft. They supervise, inspect, and perform maintenance on aircraft powertrain systems. They also remove and replace powertrain quills, transmissions, and other parts.
The job training for an Aircraft Powertrain Repairer requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 20 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Part of this time is spent in the classroom, and part takes place in the field.
The Army depends on the condition of their aircraft to complete both missions and ongoing training. Therefore, airplanes and helicopters must always be in good repair.
