15Q Air Traffic Control Operator
The Army MOS 15Q is an entry-level position for Air Traffic Control Operators. These soldiers are responsible for communicating and guiding air traffic. They track planes and give landing and take-off instructions at air traffic control facilities. They also operate navigational aids, process and evaluate flight plans, and provide air traffic information.
The 15Q MOS is an important job because these soldiers are responsible for the safety of pilots, passengers, other planes, and people on the ground.
To become a military air traffic controller, you must: Know air traffic control principles and procedures Maintain Ground-based Aircraft Controller Medical Standards Speak English clearly and distinctly Complete a current National Agency Check and Local Agency Checks and Credit Complete 7.5 weeks of Basic Military Training The Army offers base pay, allowances, compensation, and potential bonuses.
