15Y AH-64D Armament/Electrical/Avionics Repairer

The MOS 15Y job duties include: Performing preventive maintenance Ensuring weapons systems and other electronics are functioning properly Maintaining and authorizing modifications to weapons components, fire control units, sighting elements, and electronic and mechanical devices Performing operational and preventive checks Maintaining records on weapons and subsystems

The MOS 15Y also supervises inspections, maintenance, and modifications on the AH-64D armament, electrical, and avionics systems. They use drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals, and safety procedures.

The MOS 15Y also serves as a Platoon Sergeant in a Battalion Rear Detachment. They are responsible for the health, welfare, training, and professional development of six NCOs and 15 Soldiers. They also plan, coordinate, and supervise activities pertaining to organization, training, and operations.
