17A Cyber Warfare Officer AOC
The Army MOS 17A is a Cyber Operations Officer. These officers lead, plan, and direct both defensive and offensive cyberspace operations. They use cyber capabilities to target and neutralize threats. To become a 17A, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as: Electrical engineering, Computer science, Information systems, Information assurance/cyber security, Mathematics. They must also complete the Cyber Basic Officer Leaders Course (CBOLC).
The main duty stations for 17A are Fort Meade, Fort Gordon, and Hawaii. Army Cyber forces are deployed globally, conducting defensive and offensive cyber operations 24/7.
