17C Cyber Operations Specialist
The Army’s MOS 17C is a Cyber Operations Specialist. These specialists are responsible for safeguarding Army intelligence and information.
They do this by: Protecting digital data Maintaining security measures like firewalls Detecting, identifying, and responding to attacks against friendly networks
Cyber Operations Specialists also conduct offensive and defensive cyberspace operations to support military operations. They use devices, computer programs, and techniques to create an effect across cyberspace.
To become a 17C, you must: Have a high school diploma or equivalent Have normal color vision Have a physical profile of 222221 Have a physical demand rating of medium Score at least 110 in the aptitude area for GT and at least 112 in aptitude area ST on ASVAB tests administered after April 1, 2014
Training for MOS 17C takes place at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida for 25 weeks. Then, you move to Fort Gordon, Georgia for an additional 20 weeks at the United States Army Cyber School.
