18B Special Forces Weapons Sergeant
The Army Special Forces Weapons Sergeant (MOS 18B) is a weapons specialist who is critical to ground infantry. They use light and heavy arms, as well as anti-aircraft and anti-armour weapons to carry out operations.
Special Forces Weapons Sergeants conduct offensive raids, demolitions, intelligence, search and rescue, and other missions from air, land or sea. Some of their duties may include: Going behind enemy lines to recruit, train, and equip friendly forces for guerrilla raids Clearing mine fields, both underwater and on land
To become an Army 18B, you must meet the following requirements: Be a United States citizen Hold rank of E4 to E7 Have a minimum of 24 months Time In Service at the end of the Special Forces Qualification Course Score a minimum of 229 on the APFT having no less than 60 points on any event
Being a Special Forces Weapons Sergeant is very physically demanding. They train and maintain proficiency in all major duties, and employ highly demanding conventional and high-risk unconventional warfare tactics and techniques.
