18E Special Forces Communications Sergeant
The Army 18E MOS is a Special Forces Communications Sergeant. They are responsible for: Planning, preparing, and assisting with communications studies Participating in briefings and debriefings Supervising communication functions during special operations or missions Establishing and maintaining tactical and operational communications and communications equipment Organizing, training, advising, and supervising soldiers in the installation, utilization, and operation of communications equipment
The 18E also serves as the principal adviser to the commander on all matters pertaining to communications. They instruct and supervise communications techniques and operations employed in both conventional and unconventional warfare.
The 18E is well versed in the use of all the various electronic communications systems used throughout the army. These include burst, wave propagation, and cryptographic systems. They setup, operate, and maintain FM, AM, HF, VHR, UHF, and SHF radios and associated antennae.
