26Z Senior Network Systems Engineering

The Army Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 26Z is for Senior Information Network Engineers. These officers provide strategic leadership for engineering networks and services that enhance Mission Command. The MOS 26Z designation is awarded to all FA 26 officers when they are promoted to the rank of COL.

The MOS system has three to five digits. The first two digits are the field code, the third digit is the sub-specialty, and the fourth digit is the job title. The MOS/AOC often changes over time as soldiers gain new competencies and are promoted.

The MOS 26Z will change to Data Network Engineering (AOC 26Z) on October 1, 2023.
