The Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG) is the military justice branch of the United States Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Navy. The JAG Corps is a government law organization and one of the country’s largest law firms.
The JAG Corps is responsible for providing legal support for military operations. They focus on areas such as: Criminal law Legal assistance Civil and administrative law Labor and employment law International and operational law Intelligence law Contract and fiscal law
The JAG Corps is also known as the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Officers serving in the JAG Corps are typically called judge advocates. To be considered by the board, they must have at least an associate degree and five years experience as a paralegal.
