27D Paralegal Specialist

The Army MOS 27D is a Paralegal Specialist. These specialists provide legal and administrative support to judges, Judge Advocates, and unit commanders. They assist in a variety of legal areas, including: Criminal law, Family law, International law, Contract law, Fiscal law.

Paralegal Specialists also provide support to the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate. They provide legal documents for courts-martial and other military justice matters. They also assist with family law, powers of attorney, wills, and separation decrees.

Paralegal Specialists are required to be knowledgeable about a wide range of topics. They supervise the operation of an installation legal office or section of a major command legal office. They also plan, task-organize, and provide logistical support to subsections.
