31A Military Police

The Army’s Military Police (MP) MOS 31A is a Military Police Officer. They are responsible for the safety and protection of Army personnel, equipment, and resources. They can be used in offensive, defensive, stability, and civil support operations.

The 31A MOS includes the following duties: Corrections Platoon Leader Brigade Executive Officer Force Protection Officer Corrections and Detention Operations Officer Law-Order Operations Officer

The 31A MOS also includes commanding and controlling military police and criminal investigation units. They are technically and tactically knowledgeable on MP disciplines.

The Army Military Police School (USAMPS) is located in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. They train over 20,000 students annually in basic and advanced law enforcement practices.
