40A Space Operations

Army MOS 40A is the functional area for Army Space Operations Officers. These officers specialize in integrating space operations into military decision-making. They synchronize, optimize, and de-conflict the use of space resources. They also provide commanders with space intelligence.

Army Space Operations Officers are assigned to a variety of positions, including: Tactical, Operational, Strategic, Joint, Federal agency, Capability development, Technical center, Army Astronaut Detachment.

Army Space Operations Officers also serve as instructors at TRADOC schools. They provide space operations coordination and advice at all levels of command.
