42C Army Music
The Army MOS 42C is a military occupational specialty for a band officer. The band officer is responsible for the command and control of a unit-level band. Responsibilities include: Administration, Operations, Training, Supply.
The band officer should have a master’s degree in music, professional conducting or teaching experience, and strong musical and military leadership. They should also have management skills.
To become a band officer, you must meet the following requirements: Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident Be between 18 and 34 years old Be accepted to college, in college, or have graduated from a four-year degree program Be eligible for a Secret Security Clearance Be medically and physically fit Be in good moral standing
