42H Senior Human Resources Officer
The Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 42H is for a Senior Human Resources Officer. These officers are responsible for providing personnel support for soldiers’ welfare and well-being. They also help commanders keep soldiers combat-ready.
MOS 42H officers lead, command, manage, and direct human resources (HR) military life cycle functions. They support HR policy formulation, interpretation, coordination, integration, and implementation at all echelons.
MOS 42H officers serve in positions that require HR experience at: HR company, Brigade/BCT, Divisions, Corps, Theater, ACOM, HQDA. MOS 42H is for majors and above. MOS 42B is the entry-level position for officers in the ranks of Lieutenant to Captain.
Requirements for a Human Resources Officer include: Being a U.S. citizen or permanent resident Being 18 to 34 years old Being accepted to college, in college, or a graduate of a four-year degree program Being eligible for a Secret Security Clearance Being medically and physically fit Being in good moral standing
