46S Public Affairs Mass Communication Specialist
The Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 46S is a Public Affairs Mass Communication Specialist. These specialists help with the administration of Army public affairs programs and activities. They also serve as Public Affairs Broadcast Sergeants for one of four Mobile Public Affairs Detachments.
Some of the duties of a Public Affairs Mass Communication Specialist include: Researching, preparing, and distributing news releases, articles, web-based material, and photographs Gathering information for military news programs and publications Developing ideas for news articles Providing media awareness training to Army units
New 46S soldiers assigned to 2R ASI coded positions will attend additional training at DINFOS. This training will specialize in announcing skills, broadcast writing, radio broadcasting, advanced news production, and spot production.
The skills learned as a Public Affairs Mass Communication Specialist can be applied to civilian employment as a journalist or in public relations.
