50 Force Management

Functional Area 50 (FA50) is the Army’s force management duty. FA50 officers are problem solvers who help commanders get the capabilities their units need to be successful. They combine force development and force integration to manage the force.

FA50 officers: Provide synchronized delivery of capabilities Translate strategy into capabilities Advise Army leaders on the effects of their Force Management decisions Integrate and implement changes in organizational requirements and authorizations Document those changes Develop programs and funding Develop materiel and equipment fielding

FA50 officers are self-disciplined strategic thinkers. They elect to specialize as Force Managers after becoming basic-branch qualified.
