50A Force Development
Army MOS 50A, or Force Development, is a role that determines the structure, composition, position, and equipment requirements of Army forces. Officers in this role arrange all components into the force structure in integrated organizations and units. They also analyze stated objectives to determine force structure requirements.
Functional Area 50 (FA50) performs the force management duty for the Army. FA50 soldiers are expert problem solvers who help commanders get the capabilities their units need to be successful. The four functional processes of force management are: Programming, Planning, Budget, Execution.
The DoD uses these processes for strategic planning, program development, and resources determination for current and future programs.
