51S Research and Engineering
The Army MOS 51S is a military occupational specialty (MOS) that involves research and engineering. Those with this MOS plan, organize, monitor, manage, and perform research and engineering activities related to the design, development, fabrication, installation, or analysis of systems or systems components. They also manage the activities of the Combat and Material Developer organizations.
The Army Acquisition Corps includes the following MOSs: 51A Systems Development 51C Contract and Industrial Management 51R Systems Automation Acquisition and Engineering 51S Research and Engineering 51T Test and Evaluation 51Z Acquisitions
To choose an MOS, you must: Have an available spot Earn a qualifying score on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) Meet any special requirements that the job may impose
