68E Dental Specialist

The Army Dental Specialist (MOS 68E) is a military occupational specialty (MOS) that assists Army dentists. They help with patient care, including preparing patients and managing dental offices.

Their tasks include: Performing teeth cleaning procedures Assisting with dental surgery Helping with the prevention, examination, and treatment of diseases of teeth and oral region Helping with the management of dental treatment facilities

The Dental Specialist is an entry-level position that requires passing all required entry level testing. It is open to those without dental degrees.

The Dental Specialist also: Serves as squad leader for the Area Support Platoon Supervises three Soldiers Trains new Soldiers to operate dental equipment Provides counseling and mentorship to Soldiers on career progression Takes interest in health, welfare, and morale of Soldiers
