68M Nutrition Care Specialist
The Army MOS 68M is a Nutrition Care Specialist.
These soldiers are responsible for: Supervising medical nutrition care operations Providing medical nutrition care therapy to patients and staff Supervising clinical dietetics management in nutrition clinics Providing basic nutrition support in hospitals, clinics, or field environments Ensuring training for all staff members is conducted and coordinated with the Combat Support Hospital (CSH)
Nutrition Care Specialists also: Order and inspect food supplies Prepare meals for fellow soldiers Provide nutritional treatment and counseling to patients Develop age-specific nutritional plans Organize unscheduled food service for temporary patients Work with a Registered Dietitian to create customized diets and specially balanced menus for patients Teach wellness, nutrition, health, and good food choices
Nutrition Care Specialists are a critical part of the Army’s health care team. Proper nutrition is critical to the U.S. Army in developing and maintaining a strong fighting force.
