68R Veterinary Food Inspection Specialist

The Army MOS 68R is a military occupational specialty for Veterinary Food Inspection Specialists. These soldiers inspect all food products intended for human consumption. They use statistical sampling methods to ensure that food is fresh, stored properly, and delivered correctly. They also ensure that all food items are packaged according to Department of Defense standards.

Veterinary Food Inspection Specialists inspect food in depots, supply points, and on military installations. They also conduct food and sanitation inspections, including food safety surveillance, food vulnerability assessments, and water quality analysis. They record and document their findings and follow up to ensure compliance.

To qualify for this MOS, you must score a 95 or higher on the ST portion of the ASVAB test. After completing basic combat training, you will attend eight weeks of advanced individual training at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
