68T Animal Care Specialist
The Army MOS 68T is an Animal Care Specialist. They provide care, management, and treatment for animals, including government-owned animals, military working dogs, and privately owned animals. Their primary responsibility is to prevent and control diseases that are transmitted from animals to humans. They also assist veterinarians in the care and treatment of animals.
Animal Care Specialists have a critical task list of 101 skills that they must demonstrate proficiency in to graduate. They provide healthcare support to animals in garrison and worldwide contingency operations. They also administer immunizations.
Animal Care Specialists care for government-owned animals, such as patrol dogs, ceremonial horses, sled dogs, and sea mammals. These animals need quality care to keep working hard for the Army.
